Equinix is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to build reliable, scalable networking and software services for the next generation platform. You’ll work on network-adjacent compute platforms to deliver core networking primitives and support a fast-paced, innovative environment, driving impact across global networks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience, building and operating highly reliable distributed systems.
• Bachelor’s/Master's degree in computer science or a relevant engineering field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience building multi-tenant networking platforms at scale using cloud-native technologies.
• Understanding of L2/L3 networking protocols (BGP, EVPN, IPsec).
• Experience with network management protocols: gRPC, Netconf.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies: Docker, Kubernetes.
• Experience with public cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Proficiency in Golang programming language.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design ecosystem of software services to extend Equinix’s networking capabilities.
• Collaborate to design and implement scalable distributed systems.
• Participate in design reviews and code reviews to maintain high-quality code.
• Create solid unit and integration tests for CI/CD pipelines.
• Identify technical debt and drive software quality improvements.
• Work with support/ops to ensure production operability and observability.
• Foster innovation and collaboration across functions.
• Participate in incident management and troubleshooting production issues.
• Contribute to on-call rotations when in production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on delivery.
