Job summary

Babylist is seeking a Staff Engineer in Canada to own a domain, set direction, and influence architecture across teams. You’ll still write code, decide what to build next, and help determine how AI features ship to families.

You’ll work on problems spanning registry, shop, health and education, shaping the platform that powers millions of parental decisions. You are a hands-on leader who can balance technical depth with product sense, coach engineers, and partner with product, design and data

Qualifications

• Shipped production systems and formed strong opinions.
• Able to pick up ambiguous problems and move quickly.

Responsibilities

• Take a fuzzy business problem from sketch to production and measure impact.
• Build platform or tooling adopted by other teams and scale it.
• Make architecture calls across teams and avoid costly reversals.
• Set standards for AI-enabled domain development, with patterns and evals.
• Partner with product, design and data as a peer from the start.
• Coach Senior engineers through hard and ambiguous decisions.
