Job summary

Confidential client in Canada is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to shape the next phase of its engineering organization. This senior IC role combines technical leadership, hands-on development, platform architecture and AI enablement.

You will work with engineering leadership to embed AI into the software lifecycle, improve developer tooling, and ensure reliability of a large-scale digital platform while guiding teams through ambiguous problems.

Qualifications

• 10+ years software engineering experience, building scalable systems.
• 6+ years in distributed systems or platform architecture.
• Experience at Staff/Principal level or equivalent.
• Proven ability to design roadmaps and cross-team architecture.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute technical strategy across platform architecture, DX, and AI-enabled engineering.
• Translate objectives into practical roadmaps and standards.
• Identify risks that affect scalability and reliability.
• Influence architecture while staying hands-on in implementation.
• Coach engineers to embed AI in daily workflows.
