Job summary

Faire is seeking an experienced technical leader to own backend architecture and developer tooling for our Code Authoring platform. You will guide end-to-end developer workflows, from ticket to merge, and own production infrastructure with clear SLAs and cost awareness.

You will mentor engineers, shape cross-team roadmaps, and collaborate with multiple platforms and cloud environments to keep our tooling fast, reliable, and scalable.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing, building, and running distributed backend systems in production.
• Experience owning the design of developer tools, CI/CD systems, or internal platforms used by hundreds of engineers.
• Hands-on experience with large language models and coding agents, including tooling and cost tracking.
• Experience running services with uptime targets, monitoring, and incident ownership.
• Strong judgment on performance and cost tradeoffs for scalable systems.
• Proven mentoring ability and cross-team influence.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Software Eng or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of systems that run coding agents, sandboxes, remote development environments, and integrations with Linear, GitHub, Claude, and Cursor.
• Shape the developer workflow end-to-end from ticket to merged change, identifying and fixing bottlenecks.
• Operate production infrastructure with clear ownership, uptime targets, and incident accountability.
• Manage platform costs, ensuring spend aligns with value delivered.
• Set design, testing, and operational readiness standards for code written by humans and agents.
• Collaborate with other teams to align workflows and roadmap priorities.
• Mentor engineers across the pod and organization.
