What You'll Do :

1. Take ownership of the technological vision, software quality, and operational excellence for the eCommerce platform teams, including architecture, metrics, and practices.
2. Lead by example in building great software. Engage hands-on with code—building proofs of concept, resolving complex bugs, or developing features. Participate in designing and delivering new features collaboratively within an agile/scrum environment.
3. Design and implement scalable, resilient systems that support our rapidly growing business.
4. Mentor and elevate the technical skills of multiple developer pods, providing guidance and reviewing technical artifacts.
5. Identify and advocate for improvements in technical processes to optimize team performance.
6. Build strong relationships with developers and technologists across the organization, collaborating to find the best solutions—whether reusing existing standards or innovating new processes and technologies.
7. Promote a culture of continuous inclusivity and improvement.

Does This Sound Like You...?

• Extensive experience (8+ years) with Java, Kotlin, or similar backend languages, and familiarity with distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Proven experience working on large, complex software systems involving diverse data management and real-time communication (Pub/Sub).
• Hands-on experience with event-driven architecture solutions.
• Experience with Relational and NoSQL databases at scale.
• Professional experience with GCP or similar cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with frontend technologies like React, Next.js, or similar frameworks is a plus, with the ability to contribute to full-stack development.
• Experience in an agile environment, participating in code reviews and process improvements.
• A self-starter passionate about building high-quality software, thriving in fast-paced, collaborative settings.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Comfort with making decisions amid ambiguity, leveraging data from various sources.
• A thought leader in innovation, advocating for technological excellence and continuous improvement.
