Job summary

Varicent is seeking a Staff Cloud Engineer to scale and improve the cloud infrastructure behind multiple Varicent products, including an ELT application. You will own meaningful projects, influence technical decisions, and bring fresh ideas to the table in a collaborative, remote team.

You’ll design, manage, and optimize secure, scalable AWS infrastructure, automate with Terraform, and enhance CI/CD pipelines while improving monitoring and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or similar roles.
• 3+ years of hands-on AWS experience, including EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS.
• Strong hands-on Terraform expertise.
• Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automating infrastructure.
• Familiarity with cloud monitoring, networking, and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, manage, and optimize secure, scalable, and reliable AWS infrastructure across multiple SaaS products.
• Build and improve infrastructure automation using Terraform.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and cloud operations.
• Improve monitoring, performance, security, and cloud cost efficiency.
• Identify opportunities for improvement, propose solutions, and drive technical initiatives from start to finish.
• Collaborate with engineers and architects, share your knowledge, and help shape cloud engineering best practices.
