Job summary

Interac is seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Operations Engineer to lead hands-on operational engineering across Interac’s cloud environments, focusing on Terraform automation, production reliability, observability, and security. You’ll own operational readiness and mentor teams.

This role partners with Architecture, Security, Cloud Platforms and DevOps to set standards, enforce change control, and drive resilient, compliant production services across a multi‑account AWS footprint in a hybrid work

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in AWS Cloud Engineering, Cloud Operations, SRE, or DevOps.
• Experience designing enterprise multi-account AWS environments with centralized logging and governance.
• Strong Terraform experience at scale with pipeline-mediated execution.
• Experience implementing policy-as-code, and automated compliance.
• Proven ability to drive technical standards across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on AWS operational engineering across Interac’s cloud environments.
• Automate and maintain cloud infrastructure with Terraform and code pipelines.
• Define and enforce the change-control model for cloud infra.
• Lead Operational Readiness Reviews and document go/no-go recommendations.
• Own the health of multi-account AWS environments and drive reliability.
• Provide senior AWS engineering support for troubleshooting and incident resolution.
• Deliver security automation across the estate and compliance enforcement.
• Deliver reliability automation and self-healing capabilities.
• Define recovery objectives and lead chaos engineering and DR testing.
• Define observability and service level indicators to reduce toil.
• Lead major incident response and problem management.
• Promote AI-enabled operations with guardrails.
