Job summary

Vistex is hiring a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our Cloud Infrastructure Team in Canada. You will develop automated, highly available cloud infrastructure and provide architectural input, mentoring, and hands-on expertise across DevOps and Basis teams.

You’ll design secure automations, maintain public and private clouds, and implement IaC and container orchestration with Kubernetes, while ensuring IAM security and on-call readiness.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years in cloud engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, or related field.
• Experience with production computing environments or equivalent work.
• Experience with configuration management tools (Puppet, Ansible, etc.).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling (Terraform).
• Experience deploying to and operating cloud environments (Google Cloud, Azure, AWS, OpenStack).
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows system administration.
• Ability to design, document, and implement large, cloud-native architecture patterns.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes and various components.
• Working knowledge of networking concepts (IP, DNS, TCP/UDP/ICMP).
• Strong knowledge of software development lifecycles and scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell).

Responsibilities

• Design secure automations that deploy cloud infrastructure components used by multiple teams.
• Maintain and grow public cloud platforms and OpenStack private cloud.
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code for cloud resources creation and management.
• Design, implement, expand, and maintain production-grade Kubernetes clusters.
• Create custom modules and manage post-deployment configuration tools (Puppet).
• Maintain and commit code to source control and enhance deployment pipelines.
• Implement IAM across multiple cloud environments and ensure security coverage.
• Research and implement new technology to stay at the forefront of innovation.
• Disaster recovery planning and participate in on-call rotation.
