Job summary

Improving in Calgary area is seeking an experienced accountant for a 13-month maternity coverage, with hybrid work in Calgary or fully remote within Western Canada. You will leverage solid accounting and US GAAP expertise to support multi-location month-end close and financial statements.

You will manage journal entries, reconciliations, AP payments, payroll processing, and collaborate with the finance team on ad hoc projects.

Qualifications

• Canadian payroll processing experience.
• Knowledge of full-cycle accounting processes.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
• Experience with Workday is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Work with the team to complete monthly close process and preparation of financial statements.
• Use your US GAAP expertise to maintain accurate records of financial transactions.
• Reconcile bank statements and perform balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Process AP payments in a timely manner and ensure correct coding.
• Payroll processing.
• Join in on ad hoc projects and duties as assigned by the finance team.
• Day to day accounting activities for multiple locations.
• Banking and payment processing.
• Bank reconciliations.
• Timesheet reconciliations and follow-ups.
• Month end journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
