Job summary

Stantec’s Water Resources Team in British Columbia seeks a Senior Hydrologist or Water Resources Engineer to provide senior technical oversight, stamp hydrology and water resources deliverables, and lead modelling and water management work for mining and related sectors.

The role emphasizes mentorship, collaboration with a Senior Hydrologist, and integration across water-related disciplines to ensure high-quality outputs and adherence to best practices.

Qualifications

• Registration as a professional geoscientist or engineer (P.Geo. or P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.
• Excellent technical writing and verbal communication with clients and regulators.
• Disciplined project execution and leadership in a challenging environment.
• Commitment to technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical oversight across hydrometrics, hydrologic assessments and modelling, water balances, and water management for mining and related sectors.
• Review and stamp hydrologic reports and regulatory or design-support deliverables.
• Lead hydrologic assessments and predictive modelling, including method selection, calibration, interpretation, and climate change considerations.
• Provide senior-level leadership for hydrometric programs and QA/QC of datasets and reports.
• Mentor junior staff and act as senior technical representative in client and regulator interactions.
