Job summary
Stantec’s Water Resources Team in British Columbia is seeking a Senior Hydrologist or Water Resources Engineer. The role emphasizes senior technical oversight, review and stamping of hydrology deliverables, and leadership across hydrometrics, modelling, and water management for mining and related sectors.
The successful candidate will mentor colleagues, guide field programs, and interact with clients and regulators while advancing best practices in hydrological analyses and climate-change
Qualifications
- Professional geoscientist or engineer registered with BC (P.Geo. or P.Eng.).
- Minimum 13 years of hydrology-related experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for clients and regulators.
- Ability to provide senior technical oversight and stamp deliverables.
- Mining experience with climate-change considerations.
Responsibilities
- Provide senior technical oversight across hydrometrics and modelling.
- Review and stamp hydrology deliverables and water balance docs.
- Lead hydrologic assessments and predictive modelling with climate considerations.
- Guide water balances and management plans for mining and other sectors.
- Mentor junior staff and support field programs as needed.
- Represent the team with clients, regulators, and internal teams.
