The Opportunity:
The Senior Finance Analyst (SFA) is a key member of the Specialty Meats Finance team. With a strong professional and technical background, the SFA provides analytical and financial expertise through monthly financial reporting and variance analysis, partners with the plant management team on process improvements, ensures compliance with financial policies and procedures, maintains internal controls, and provides expertise and support. This role interacts frequently with employees and management at various levels of the organization and across multiple manufacturing sites.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
- On a daily and weekly basis, provide the plant management team with timely and accurate cost reports.
- Compile, report and provide explanations for variances. Investigate variances, determine root causes, and recommend actions to minimize. Understand cost driving activities and provide analytics to assist management. Put controls in place to minimize variances and review monthly results with stakeholders.
- Play an important role in the costing of new products from development to launch and ensure current product costs reflect the manufacturing process by product. Identify cost improvement opportunities and support potential solutions.
- Manage the fiscal month-end close and interpretation of financial results. Ensure accounting policies adhere to IFRS and approved corporate policies.
- Enforce C3 standard to ensure essential inventory and purchasing procedures are followed and submit quarterly self-assessments. Guide and coach non-financial sector managers on financial control and compliance issues. Gather and classify documentation and control documents related to activities (proof of delivery, purchase orders, invoices, receiving documents, rental contracts, inventory count documents).
- Provide accurate forecasts of overall plant results on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Manage the entire budget process for the plant. Work with functional superiors to ensure the budget proposal is complete, accurate and submitted on time.
- Support reliability management with KPI tracking and KPI reporting metrics.
- Support tracking of savings for capital projects. Work with the plant team to ensure that financial documents and implementation plans contain relevant analyses and justifications required to support investments.
- Collaborate with the Finance Manager on special projects as assigned.
- Provide coverage for Finance Team Members as required.
- Design, test, implement and maintain procedures as required.
- Manage financial data across multiple platforms, including SAP, Power BI, and Microsoft Suite.
- Meet critical weekly and monthly deadlines with accurate and timely reporting.
- Support Plant Continuous Improvement projects and achieve plant targets.
What You’ll Bring:
- University Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration
- 2 or more years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Professional accounting designation CPA or MBA, or working towards one, strongly preferred
- High sense of urgency, well organized, ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and ability to effectively use transactional databases
- SAP and Business Analytics or similar ERP experience desirable
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Ability to work in a team and cross-functionally and take initiative on making improvements
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- English fluency required
