Job description

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following :

• Develop system architectures and integrate electrical components into larger systems, considering overall functionality, performance, and safety requirements.
• Design and develop printed circuit boards (PCBs) for electronic systems, ensuring functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Conduct circuit simulations using software tools to analyze and optimize circuit performance, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
• Design wiring harnesses and cable assemblies for electrical systems, considering factors such as signal integrity, thermal management, and EMC / EMI compliance.
• Lead electrical engineering projects from concept to completion. Support the project management office in developing work breakdown structures.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, firmware engineers, and product designers, to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other components.
• Direct activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
• Develop test plans and procedures, conduct testing, and perform validation to ensure the reliability and performance of electrical systems.
• Establish design criteria for projects using required codes and standards.
• Participate in the design review process.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables.
• Work with the Production department to provide technical assistance during the manufacturing process.

Hard Skills

• Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent engineering discipline with 8+ years’ experience
• Design and review PCB Fab drawings, PCB Assembly drawings, and provide input into new product designs
• Design wiring harnesses and cable assemblies
• Lead / Mentor experience, leading Electrical Engineers and Technologists
• Altium
• Experience with Sonar systems, especially in an ocean environment
• LabVIEW
• Experience with high voltages
• Experience with ABB motors and drives
• Experience with embedded controllers

Work Site
