Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following :
- Develop system architectures and integrate electrical components into larger systems, considering overall functionality, performance, and safety requirements.
- Design and develop printed circuit boards (PCBs) for electronic systems, ensuring functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Conduct circuit simulations using software tools to analyze and optimize circuit performance, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
- Design wiring harnesses and cable assemblies for electrical systems, considering factors such as signal integrity, thermal management, and EMC / EMI compliance.
- Lead electrical engineering projects from concept to completion. Support the project management office in developing work breakdown structures.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, firmware engineers, and product designers, to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other components.
- Direct activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
- Develop test plans and procedures, conduct testing, and perform validation to ensure the reliability and performance of electrical systems.
- Establish design criteria for projects using required codes and standards.
- Participate in the design review process.
- Review and approve engineering deliverables.
- Work with the Production department to provide technical assistance during the manufacturing process.
Hard Skills
- Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent engineering discipline with 8+ years’ experience
- Design and review PCB Fab drawings, PCB Assembly drawings, and provide input into new product designs
- Design wiring harnesses and cable assemblies
- Lead / Mentor experience, leading Electrical Engineers and Technologists
- Altium
- Experience with Sonar systems, especially in an ocean environment
- LabVIEW
- Experience with high voltages
- Experience with ABB motors and drives
- Experience with embedded controllers
