Job description

Reporting to the Pricing Director, your responsibilities include contributing to pricing projects using state-of-the-art actuarial models and innovative approaches, as well as coaching and mentoring less experienced analysts. Projects are varied and include tackling natural catastrophe perils, developing new tools and processes, creating rating structures, and monitoring/reporting on overall rate adequacy. In this role, you will gain exposure to rating and product development in personal property lines (national), with valuable project leadership opportunities, exposure to higher management, and career development potential.

What can you expect in this role?

  • Work on diverse and unique business initiatives, from diagnostics to creating new pricing models.
  • Participate in developing solutions for current and emerging trends.
  • Engage in high-exposure, cross-departmental projects.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes across business areas.
  • Develop knowledge of actuarial operations and the insurance industry, including predictive modeling, underwriting, claims handling, and product development.
  • Utilize database and predictive modeling software to analyze data for profitability and other applications.
  • Manage timelines effectively for independent projects and analyses.
  • Communicate actuarial concepts and recommendations clearly to management, both verbally and in writing, with supporting documentation.
  • Track and monitor company and industry performance.
  • Perform peer reviews of technical and qualitative analyses conducted by colleagues.

What do you bring to the role?

  • University degree in Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields.
  • Completion of 4-6 CAS exams.
  • 2-5 years of relevant full-time experience.
  • Strong programming skills, including SAS and efficient use of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access, VBA, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a busy environment.
  • Team player, adaptable to change, and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting.

Salary range: $69,800 - $140,400.
