Job summary

Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Partnership (MLSE) is seeking a part-time Groundskeeper to support field prep for TFC soccer and Argos football games, concerts and events at BMO Field and the BMO Training Ground in Downsview. You will operate tractors and mowers, maintain turf and landscape quality, and assist with fertilizer/herbicide programs and equipment maintenance.

The role is 30–40 hours per week (Mon-Fri, with occasional weekends) at $23.00/hr.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in turfgrass management, agronomy, horticulture, plant and soil science, sports field management, or a related discipline strongly preferred
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the turf industry
• Flexibility to work extended hours, including some nights and weekends and flexibility to work either location
• Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds
• Full G license in good standing is an asset

Responsibilities

• Assist in the field preparation for TFC soccer and Argos football games, concerts and other events
• Run equipment; tractors, mowers, line trimmers, etc.
• Maintain landscaping around stadium and practice facility to the highest quality
• Assist in painting multiple types of professional athletic fields
• Assist in a year-long fertilizer/herbicide/pesticide program
• Assist in the equipment maintenance program
• Oversee small projects
• Lead groups on projects
• Other responsibilities as the need arises
