Job Summary
The Team
The South Fraser Service Delivery Team is an established team of experienced, independent Child Protection Workers serving the multicultural community of Surrey, Delta, White Rock and Langley. The team works with emergency services to provide essential support and services to vulnerable children, youth and families.
The Youth Family Service team (15-18) and the Youth Family Response Team (12-14) work with youth and their families to address their needs and provide support over the long term. The teams are highly collaborative with a focus on keeping youth with their families and reunifying youth with their natural networks whenever possible. The team works closely with the Youth Intake Team (15-18), the Youth Empowerment Outreach Team (YEOT), as well teams across the region and service lines.
The Role
Child Protection Workers specialize in developing plans with families to ensure the safety of children and youth through assessment and collaboration. They receive, assess and respond to concerns of child abuse and neglect by interviewing parents, children and youth, assessing strengths and needs, working with appropriate agencies, developing safety plans and determining if children or youth are in need of protection. This is a wonderful opportunity for workers who want to make a difference in the lives of children, youth and families.
