Job description

Position Overview

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a shared responsibility. Continuous improvement in quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting and Responsibilities: Reporting to the Coordinator, Speech Pathology, the successful candidate will prioritize referrals, assess patients, and develop and implement individual and group treatment programs to ensure optimal patient care across multiple sites.

Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience
  • Masters Degree in Speech/Language Pathology.
  • Current licensure with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Speech Language Practitioner.
  • Valid BC driver's license.
Skills and Abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong planning and instructional skills.
  • Ability to organize treatment programs for individuals and groups.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other professionals, hospital staff, patients, families, and external agencies.
  • Physical capability to perform the duties of the position.
