Job description

The Rockyview General Hospital (RGH) is a metropolitan hospital with over 650 inpatient beds. It is also the main site for urology & ophthalmology specialties. RGH is located next to the scenic Glenmore Reservoir in Southwest Calgary. RGH AH department works collaboratively with all clinical teams: Emergency, ICU/CCU, Medical/Surgical Units, Transition Units, Mental Health, Orthopaedics & the Acute Geriatric Units. The S-LP role involves assessing, treating, & discharging patients. Job duties will be varied & will require a comprehensive range of skills. Your assessment & critical thinking skills will be necessary to guide your work. Your proven time management skills, demonstrated initiative & problem-solving skills will be an asset to this position as you will be working under minimal supervision. You will have a proven ability to work effectively within a continually changing, interdisciplinary, patient-centred environment. In addition to having strong clinical skills, we are looking for a clinician who can be an ideal team player. That means showing up with humility & vulnerability ready to take ownership of one’s actions & to learn from others. It means contributing to the healthy growth & development of the S-LP team (and the Dept), by engaging in difficult conversations & being able to give & receive feedback while maintaining professionalism & working relationships. Our ideal candidate would also be hungry for the work, demonstrating an intrinsic work ethic & a desire to go above & beyond, never settling for the minimum required. Self-motivated, proactive, & dedicated to the team’s success. The caseload for all positions may be subject to change based on operational considerations.

Description:

You will be responsible for providing prevention, health promotion, identification, assessment, intervention, and case management. You will participate in the planning, coordination and delivery of rehabilitation services in collaboration with patients/clients, families, healthcare professionals and other partners. Your leadership and interpersonal skills will aid you in supervising students and providing clinical guidance to other staff as appropriate.
