Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Ksyen Regional Hospital.


Reporting to the Manager, the staff nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care and nursing practice activities within the framework of quality management. The role is defined by the needs of the hospital, a select patient/family population, agency expectations, and the goals for professional nursing practice.


Northern Health Neonatal Education and Specialty Training (NHNEST):

  • There are 8 training positions available for 2025/2026
  • Northern Health provides placement support and funding for tuition, textbooks, and travel expenses for clinical placements, as required
  • Learners should expect to make a 4-6 month commitment for this education, which includes online and in-person learning
  • Additional study time outside scheduled hours will be required to successfully complete the program
  • Flexibility for practicums is necessary
  • Applicants must successfully complete the education program prior to working in the department
  • Upon successful completion, Northern Health requires an 18-month return of service in a relevant nursing position
  • Qualified applicants will be considered first for specialty positions. If none are qualified, training lines will be awarded to unqualified applicants with training provided

Shift Rotation/Hours: Monday to Friday, Days, 08:00 to 16:00


Ksyen Regional Hospital

The new Ksyen Regional Hospital welcomed its first patients on November 24, 2024. It features 82 beds, private rooms, and is a centre for trauma services, orthopedic surgeries, pathology, radiology, clinical support, and pharmacy services. It is also a training site for medical students in the Northern Medical Program.


Terrace Community
