The primary role of the Customer Experience function within the Product Development team is to create specifications and designs for new products or improvements to existing products. It works closely with customers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand and define customer needs in these designs. Features are aligned with a timetable and areas of responsibility. CX Designers may solicit customer feedback regarding product usability and future enhancements.

Responsibilities
  • The primary objective of UX Design within the Engineering (PD) Job Family is to design solutions informed by user and business needs, aiming to create the best experience and product.
  • Conduct research to investigate user behaviors, needs, and preferences to develop solutions aligned with user goals.
  • Assess business needs, technology, and design trends to inform optimal product design solutions.
  • Follow a cyclical process of design, testing, and iteration to ensure solutions meet needs and maintain high standards of design and innovation.
  • Collaborate with other product development design and engineering teams to deliver solutions to market, and work closely with product management to align with strategic business and user goals.
  • Perform work in a specialized area requiring knowledge of fundamental themes, principles, and concepts, typically requiring a university degree or equivalent experience.
  • Responsibilities may include:
  1. Performing routine professional activities (early career)
  2. Managing and contributing to projects (mid-career)
  3. Providing advice and guidance in areas of expertise (specialist/expert)
  4. Leveraging expertise to contribute to strategy and drive results (principal)
  • Build productive internal and external relationships.
  • Occasionally lead project teams and train junior staff.
