Qualifications

The Specialist, Talent Acquisition leads full-cycle, high-volume recruitment, selection, and onboarding for the Association, managing a fast-paced portfolio of concurrent requisitions across multiple sites, including seasonal hiring surges while delivering a consistently positive candidate experience and strong recruitment/onboarding metrics.

What You’ll Do:



  • Recruitment & Selection:Lead high-volume recruitment and selection including posting vacancies, screening applicants, scheduling/conducting interviews, and completing reference checks, in collaboration with Hiring Managers while prioritizing competing deadlines across multiple concurrent requisitions and sites. Use the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to keep a large candidate pipeline moving efficiently, and recommend improvements to the recruitment, selection, and onboarding functions. Develop and maintain a continuous pipeline of active and passive candidates.

  • Onboarding:Lead onboarding including reviewing candidate documents, following up with candidates and hiring managers, and processing information in the HRIS while ensuring a seamless, positive experience for new hires.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration:Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to fill a high volume of vacancies across multiple sites quickly and efficiently, especially during peak/seasonal hiring. Host and participate in career fairs and hiring events to build and maintain a strong candidate pipeline.

  • Data & Metrics: Maintain statistical data and metrics to support continuous improvement across the full recruitment and onboarding cycle, incorporating feedback gathered from new hires at key employee moments.


What You’ll Bring:



  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other relevant disciplines, or equivalent work experience.

  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive recruitment experience, leading initiatives and building recruitment strategies for hard to fill, high-volume roles.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume requisition caseload and a large, active candidate pipeline simultaneously, while maintaining accuracy, quality, and a positive candidate experience under tight timelines.

  • Knowledge and hands‑on expertise in leveraging data for Talent Acquisition (TA) analytics, compliance, and data-driven TA delivery, with attention to detail.

  • Experience in behavioral interviewing techniques, strong business acumen, and advising on hiring decisions.

  • Understanding of employment legislation to ensure a consistent and equitable approach is maintained in all stages of the recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes, in accordance with applicable legislation.

  • Ability to interpret applicable legislation, as well as effectively communicate and advise hiring managers in areas such as AODA, Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, and IDEA best practices and principles.

  • Effective written and verbal communication, with excellent interpersonal and networking skills.

  • Professional demeanor with the ability to maintain a positive attitude and poise under conflicting time demands, while handling confidential information and complex situations with integrity.

  • Strong organizational, planning, and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple high-volume recruitment campaigns and competing deadlines simultaneously, with excellent attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and related applications, with aptitude to learn and embrace the use of new technology.

  • Access to reliable transportation as this role requires travel across communities served to support year-round recruitment, hiring and onboarding efforts.


A Major Asset If



  • You have worked in non-profit, charity or public sector organizations.

  • Experience with HRIS, specifically UKG.

  • Certified in recruitment-related certifications, such as Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) or Certified Talent Management Practitioner (CTMP).
