Role Overview

We seek a creative Social Media Specialist to evolve our strategy from brand awareness to nurturing potential customers through their decision-making journey. Passion for tourism and outdoor adventures, storytelling skills, and experience in moving audiences closer to booking are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transition our social media strategy to include more mid-funnel content that drives bookings.
  • Create, schedule, and deploy engaging content showcasing our experiences.
  • Manage community engagement, respond to comments/messages, and identify leads for the Sales Team.
  • Stay updated on social media trends and platform changes.
  • Monitor metrics to optimize content performance.
  • Use social listening tools to understand customer concerns.
  • Build relationships with influencers.
  • Collaborate on content supporting the customer journey.
  • Coordinate with field teams for authentic content sourcing.
  • Support health, safety, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Participate in emergency response and field programs as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Marketing, Communications, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-3 years in social media management, preferably in tourism or outdoor recreation.
  • Understanding of outdoor adventure culture (preferred).
  • Proven success in growing brand awareness and engagement.
  • Proficiency with major social media platforms and analytics.
  • Certifications in digital storytelling/social media marketing are assets.
  • Experience with social listening and analytics tools.
  • Portfolio of successful campaigns.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles for social media.

  • Remote work within Alberta and BC, with occasional field activities.

  • Occasional travel to CMH locations and industry events.
