Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited is seeking a Specialist, Operation Technology in Nunavut. You will design, configure, and program PLCs, AVEVA components, and Historian servers to support industrial process control.

You will also deploy IT-OT solutions, maintain the OT network, and assist engineering teams with technical improvements. The role requires 5+ years in Advanced Process Controls and SCADA, AVEVA experience, and strong troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Advanced Process Controls, Ethernet Switch, Servers and SCADA systems.
• Proficiency with AVEVA system platform, fiber optics, and industrial communication protocols.
• Strong knowledge of software installation, computer and server configuration.
• Ability to read, modify and develop PLC/HMI logic.
• Fluent knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and Visio.
• Experience in Mineral Processing and Material Handling industries.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure and program components for process control including PLCs, AVEVA components, AVEVA Historian, and application software.
• Develop solutions to resolve IT-OT industrial control issues.
• Propose technical improvements for the IT-OT department.
• Develop PLC-HMI templates and support technicians and engineers.
• Maintain and optimize IT-OT network and server fleet with IT Analysts.
• Maintain industrial computers and SCADA systems stability.
• Monitor and configure production ethernet switches, OT servers and OT domain.
• Maintain documentation and diagrams.
• Advise management on actions and decisions.
• Serve as a resource for Energy and Infrastructure teams.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Supervisor, Operation Technology, you will be part of the Information Technology Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

• Design, configure and program different components related to process control which includes but is not limited to PLCs, AVEVA component servers, AVEVA Historian servers and application software;
• Design and Deploy solutions to resolve technical issues related to industrial process controls;
• Propose and Design technical improvements for the IT-OT department;
• Develop PLC-HMI templates and support technicians and engineers;
• In team with the IT Analysts, maintain and optimize the entire IT-OT network and server fleet;
• Responsabile of the industrial computers maintenance and SCADA systems stability;
• Monitor and Configure production ethernet switches, OT servers and OT domain;
• Maintain documentation and diagrams;
• Advise the management on appropriate actions and decisions to take;
• Acts as a resource person for members of the Energy and Infrastructure team.

• 5+ years' experience in Advanced Process Controls, Ethernet Switch, Servers and SCADA systems;
• Proficient with AVEVA system platform, fiber optics architecture and communications protocols at various levels, most specifically for industrial control system;
• Advance knowledge of software installation, computers and servers configuration;
• Able to configure and maintain Historian databases and Windows Domain management;
• Ability to read, modify and develop programming logic (PLC/HMI);
• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, AutoCad, and Visio;
• Mineral Processing and Material Handling industry experience.

Note that the official working language at our Nunavut operations is English.

Your Work Schedule:

Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;

A hybrid schedule can also be considered, depending on the projet;

Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
