Job summary

Moneris is seeking a senior data governance professional to implement and automate governance standards across the enterprise data platform. You will configure Snowflake governance features, manage data lineage, and ensure data quality controls are in place.

You will collaborate with Data Engineering, Architecture, Security, and business teams to embed governance into data products and pipelines, while driving continuous improvement in governance outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Engineering, Data Management, or a related discipline.
• Experience with Snowflake, including Horizon Catalog, Lakehouse architecture, and Data Lineage.
• Experience with DBT models and frameworks.
• Experience using GitHub and CI/CD practices to support deployment and governance workflows.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience with data governance platforms such as Collibra or Microsoft Purview.
• Experience implementing metadata management, data cataloging, data lineage, and data quality solutions.

Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity

Location: You will be based in our Etobicoke office, balancing in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Reporting Relationship : You will report to Manager, Data Governance and Strategy.

Posting Type: Replacement.

Salary Range: The expected base salary range for this role is $99,000-$135,000.

Total compensation may also include variable or discretionary incentive components, including but not limited to bonuses and commissions. Individual job offers are determined by various factors, including experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.

Required skills and experience

• 5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Engineering, Data Management, or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with SnowFlake, including Horizon Catalog, Lakehouse architecture, and Data Lineage.
• Experience with DBT models and frameworks.
• Experience using GitHub and CI/CD practices to support deployment and governance workflows.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience with one or more data governance platforms, including Collibra or Microsoft Purview.
• Experience implementing metadata management, data cataloging, data lineage, and data quality solutions.

Experience that would set you apart

• Experience in financial services or other regulated industries.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Understanding of privacy, security, and regulatory requirements, including PIPEDA and PCI DSS.
