Job summary

Educational Assistant position at the Upper Canada District School Board focuses on supporting students with exceptional needs within the school setting. Qualifications

• Secondary school diploma and a 2- or 3-year college diploma in a related field.
• Bachelor Degrees in Child Studies, Sociology and Psychology will be recognized.
• Behaviour Management Systems training/certification is an asset.
• Related work experience would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of goals based on academic needs in the IEP.
• Administer medications and maintain medication records when authorized.
• Maintain student progress records and daily logs of behavior and progress.
• Collaborate with classroom teacher and LRT to implement behavior management programs.
• Attend student/staff meetings and participate in professional development.
