Job summary

Upper Canada District School Board is seeking an Educational Assistant at North Dundas District High School and North Dundas Intermediate to support students with exceptional needs under the supervision of the Principal and LRT.

The role involves implementing IEP goals, supporting behaviour, and utilizing adaptive technology while ensuring confidentiality and coordinating with families and external agencies as required.

Qualifications

• Secondary school diploma with two/three year college diploma in related field.
• Bachelor Degrees in Child Studies, Sociology and Psychology will be recognized.
• Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) training/certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of goals based on the academic needs and IEP as outlined for student success.
• Support development, review, evaluation, revision and monitoring of therapeutic programs identified by Board personnel/external agencies.
• Administer medication and maintain medication records as authorized by the school administrator.
• Adhere to student plans of personal/physical care needs to support safety and well-being.
• Assist with adaptive/assistive technology and communication needs of students.
• Communicate with students, parents/guardians, teachers and agencies as directed by principal/LRT.
