Job summary

PosiTrace is seeking a hands-on finance leader to drive financial operations for its Mexican subsidiary within a cross-border framework with Canada. You will ensure SAT compliance, strong internal controls, and accurate reporting while partnering with Sales, Operations, and Product to support revenue strategies.

The role requires deep experience in Mexican accounting, audits, taxes, payroll, and compliance, with Spanish fluency and strong English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements for the Mexican market and cross-border alignment.
• Oversee month-end and year-end closings under Mexican standards and US GAAP (nice to have).
• Manage general ledger entries, reconciliations, and ledger analysis with data transparency.
• Ensure VAT, payroll taxes, corporate taxes, and local Mexican regulations compliance; coordinate audits.
• Implement internal controls to reduce fraud and optimize costs.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting with data-driven insights.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Product for pricing validation across locations.
• Mentor junior accounting staff and foster accountability.
• Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency.
• Bridge the Mexican subsidiary with Canadian HQ respecting cultural/regulatory nuances.

What you'll do

• Financial Reporting:Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy for the Mexican market and alignment with Canadian HQ reporting requirements. SaaS industry experience is a plus.
• Month-End & Year-End Closings:Oversee closing processes, ensuring compliance with Mexican accounting standards, US GAAP (nice to have), and internal policies.
• General Ledger & Transaction Oversight:Manage journal entries, account reconciliations, and detailed ledger analysis, ensuring transparency and integrity of financial data.
• Tax Compliance & Audits:Ensure full compliance with VAT, payroll taxes, corporate taxes, and local Mexican regulations. Prepare filings and coordinate internal and external audits.
• Internal Controls & Fraud Reduction:Implement processes and controls to minimize financial risk, prevent fraud, and optimize cost efficiency.
• Budgeting & Forecasting:Contribute to annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring data accuracy and insights to guide leadership decisions.
• Cross-Department Collaboration:Partner with Sales, Operations, and Product teams to ensure financial alignment, validate pricing per location, and support revenue strategies.
• Team Leadership & Development:Lead by example; mentor and develop junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability, high performance, and collaboration.
• Process Improvement:Identify and implement opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance operational efficiency.
• Cultural Bridge:Serve as a key liaison between the Mexican subsidiary and Canadian HQ, navigating cultural and regulatory nuances to ensure smooth operations.
