Job summary

PosiTrace is redefining GPS tracking for fleets and seeking a hands-on finance leader to oversee Mexican operations from our Canada-based HQ. You will ensure SAT compliance, robust internal controls, and accurate cross-country reporting, partnering with Sales, Operations, and Product to maximize revenue efficiency.

You will lead month-end/year-end closes, manage the general ledger, coordinate audits, and drive cost-saving process improvements while mentoring junior staff and acting as a cultural

Qualifications

• Experience with Mexican accounting, audits, taxes, payroll, and compliance.
• Fluent in Spanish and strong English for cross-border collaboration.
• Experience with ContpaQi.
• Proven ability to implement internal controls, reduce costs, and improve processes.
• Experience with multi-country operations and SaaS/tech companies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements for the Mexican market.
• Month-End & Year-End Closings: Oversee closing processes per Mexican standards and US GAAP (nice to have).
• General Ledger & Transaction Oversight: Manage journal entries and reconciliations with data integrity.
• Tax Compliance & Audits: Ensure VAT, payroll, and corporate taxes compliance; coordinate audits.
• Internal Controls & Fraud Reduction: Implement controls to minimize risk and cost.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Contribute to annual budgets with accurate insights.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Operations, Product to align finances.
• Team Leadership & Development: Mentor junior staff and foster accountability.
• Process Improvement: Streamline financial processes for efficiency.
• Cultural Bridge: Liaise between Mexican subsidiary and Canadian HQ.

What you'll do

• Financial Reporting:Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy for the Mexican market and alignment with Canadian HQ reporting requirements. SaaS industry experience is a plus.
• Month-End & Year-End Closings:Oversee closing processes, ensuring compliance with Mexican accounting standards, US GAAP (nice to have), and internal policies.
• General Ledger & Transaction Oversight:Manage journal entries, account reconciliations, and detailed ledger analysis, ensuring transparency and integrity of financial data.
• Tax Compliance & Audits:Ensure full compliance with VAT, payroll taxes, corporate taxes, and local Mexican regulations. Prepare filings and coordinate internal and external audits.
• Internal Controls & Fraud Reduction:Implement processes and controls to minimize financial risk, prevent fraud, and optimize cost efficiency.
• Budgeting & Forecasting:Contribute to annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring data accuracy and insights to guide leadership decisions.
• Cross-Department Collaboration:Partner with Sales, Operations, and Product teams to ensure financial alignment, validate pricing per location, and support revenue strategies.
• Team Leadership & Development:Lead by example; mentor and develop junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability, high performance, and collaboration.
• Process Improvement:Identify and implement opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance operational efficiency.
