emergiTEL Inc. is seeking a SOX Senior Consultant for a contract role in Toronto, ON. You will lead governance, risk management and control engagements for Financial Services clients, and design/implement internal controls (SOX 404) while mentoring teammates.

The role requires 3–5 years in internal controls or risk management in Financial Services, with familiarity of NI 52-109 and OSFI/FINTRAC/CIRO/FSRA. Remote work during ET hours is possible.

Formación

• 3 to 5 years of experience in internal controls, compliance, internal audit, or risk management.
• Strong Financial Services industry experience, including banking, asset management, insurance, wealth management, or fintech.
• Solid understanding of the Canadian regulatory environment, including OSFI, FINTRAC, CIRO, and FSRA.
• Professional designation related to risk management, internal controls, or internal audit is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Assess current compliance, risk management, and control programs and evaluate them against industry-leading practices.
• Identify key risk management, compliance, and control mechanisms and develop testing programs.
• Independently perform control testing and document testing procedures and results.
• Prepare reports summarizing findings, observations, and recommendations.
• Mentor team members and review the quality of work completed by others.
• Support project management activities, including timelines, budgets, quality control, and client relationship management.
• Manage multiple client engagements of varying scope and complexity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams composed of diverse backgrounds and skill sets.
• Assist with business development activities including proposals, presentations, and marketing materials.

Compensation: $78 - $93/hour
Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

• Duration: September 21, 2026 to December 31, 2026.
• Remote work possible during Eastern Time Zone business hours.
• Potential for contract extension and possible permanent conversion.
