Job summary

Marilu’s Market in Burlington, Ontario is seeking a full-time Sous Chef to ensure efficient kitchen and retail operations in our Prepared Foods Department. You will supervise staff, set up the retail area each morning, manage stock rotation, and maintain quality control to meet our standards.

You may also bake, package, present items, receive deliveries, and manage waste while upholding health and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Must have at least cooking experience and be able to follow set recipes.
• Flexible work schedule and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Supervise kitchen and retail operations of the Prepared Foods Department.
• Set up the retail area in the morning and manage stock rotation.
• Maintain quality control and display items; bake and package goods.
• Handle deliveries, stock, and garbage disposal; ensure cleanliness and sanitation.
• Follow health, safety, and food handling protocols; adhere to employee handbook.
• Schedule shifts and communicate absences; support peak periods and holidays.
• Perform additional duties as needed by Store Managers.
