Qualifications

Sourcing Analyst, Advanced Analytics

Mohawk Medbuy Corporation (MMC) is a national, not-for-profit, shared services organization that supports hundreds of health care providers across Canada, as well as child welfare agencies and other public sector organizations. MMC provides value-driven contracting and procurement solutions for medical/surgical supplies, pharmaceutical products, local sourcing, capital (equipment, FF&E and redevelopment) and nutrition solutions. We are currently recruiting for a Sourcing Analyst, Advanced Analytics to support our Strategic Sourcing team.

Position Overview

The Sourcing Analyst, Advanced Analytics, reporting to the Senior Manager, Sourcing Analytics, supports data-driven procurement decisions by analyzing complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and value opportunities. The role develops analytical models, dashboards, and reporting solutions to deliver clear, actionable insights that inform sourcing strategies and stakeholder decision-making. It also ensures data accuracy and compliance through reimbursement validation and reconciliation processes. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the analyst drives continuous improvement by enhancing data quality, automating reporting, and expanding self-service analytics capabilities to deliver measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis, Advanced Analytics and Reporting
  • Analyze large, complex procurement and supplier datasets to identify trends, risks, and value opportunities.
  • Deliver actionable spend insights to support sourcing strategies, negotiations, and supplier consolidation.
  • Build and apply advanced analytical models (e.g., forecasting, scenario analysis) to inform decision-making.
  • Develop concise, insight-driven narratives translating data into business recommendations.
  • Design and deliver dashboards and visualizations to enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Build scalable data models and analytical solutions using Power BI, SQL, and advanced Excel
  • Maintain and enhance analytical tools, templates, and reporting frameworks used by Sourcing teams.
  • Enable self-service analytics capabilities across internal stakeholders.
  • Present insights and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.
Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
  • Partner with Sourcing and Member stakeholders to support strategic initiatives and ad hoc analysis.
  • Identify and drive improvements in data quality, reporting efficiency, and analytical methodologies.
  • Evaluate and implement tools, technologies, and best practices to enhance analytics capabilities.
  • Standardize and automate reporting and analytics processes to improve scalability.
  • Support adoption of new tools, processes, and insights through effective change management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Reimbursement Analysis and Validation
  • Perform monthly validation of Member reimbursement data to ensure accuracy and contractual compliance.
  • Consolidate and reconcile data from multiple systems to produce complete, reliable datasets.
  • Apply business rules and analytical judgment to identify discrepancies and validate outputs.
  • Deliver validated reimbursement results for internal review and vendor approval.
  • Execute timely and accurate system updates to reflect approved reimbursements.
  • Manage recurring processes with strong discipline, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and adherence to timelines.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, automation, and data integrity.
Qualifications and Skills
Education, Training, and Experience
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and derive insights from large, complex datasets.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical judgment to identify trends, risks, anomalies, and root causes.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, SQL, and advanced Excel (e.g., data modeling, Power Query, complex formulas).
  • Experience building and applying analytical models, including forecasting and scenario analysis.
  • Ability to design and deliver effective data visualizations and dashboards that support decision-making.
  • Strong data management capabilities, including data extraction, transformation, validation, and reconciliation across multiple sources.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, integrity, and quality.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, concise, and actionable business insights and recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present insights to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.
  • Experience developing scalable analytical tools, models, and reporting frameworks.
  • Ability to enable and support self-service analytics for business users.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, including both strategic initiatives and recurring deliverables, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and discipline in executing structured, recurring processes with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Experience identifying and implementing process improvements, including automation and standardization of workflows.
  • Curiosity and continuous improvement mindset, with a willingness to adopt new tools, technologies, and best practices.
  • Ability to support change management and drive adoption of new processes, tools, and insights.
  • Understanding of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain concepts; healthcare industry experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of contract structures, pricing models, and reimbursement processes is considered an asset.

  • Post-secondary education in Business Analytics, Data Science, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related analytical field.
  • Five (5) to Seven (7) years of relevant experience in data analysis, analytics, or a similar role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical capabilities.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Proven ability to set priorities, manage deadlines, and deliver high-quality outputs.

  • Knowledge of contract structures, pricing models, and reimbursement processes.
  • Experience with process automation tools (e.g., VBA, Python, or similar technologies).
  • Experience supporting or implementing self-service analytics solutions.
  • Exposure to data governance practices and enterprise data environments.
Travel
  • Ability to travel to Mohawk Medbuy offices if required.
