Job summary

Mohawk Medbuy Corporation is seeking an Azure Applications Architect to design and implement scalable cloud solutions on Azure, and to lead integration across ERP and web applications. This hybrid role requires three days in office and two remote, with the option to work from Burlington or London offices.

You will mentor teams, develop architectural blueprints, govern development, and drive security, cost efficiency, and performance.

Qualifications

  • University degree in programming, CS and/or database development/administration.
  • 6+ years of equivalent work experience.
  • Microsoft Certified Professional certifications.
  • Ability to develop, maintain and deliver automation solutions to simplify day-to-day operations.
  • Ability to process data and interpret results to ensure data accuracy.

  • Lead design and architecture of external customer business systems aligned with objectives.
  • Facilitate discussions with stakeholders to extract requirements and present a holistic vision and solutions.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an Azure Applications Architect to support our IT team. This is a hybrid model, requiring three days in office and two days remote. This role can be located out of our Burlington or London offices.

Position Overview

The Azure Applications Architect designs and implements functionality to automate processes that simplify tasks needing to be completed. This includes research, design, documenting, maintaining, modifying software specifications. Responsible for developing and maintaining interfaces/integration and connectivity between heterogeneous applications. The Architect also provides support to web and ERP developers in the architecting development, coding and testing of software solutions on Azure Platform and provides additional support for network and database administration and end user support on Cloud based platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management:

  • Lead the design and architecture of external customer business systems ensuring they align with business/corporate objectives.
  • Facilitate discussions with business and technical stakeholders to extract critical business requirements and present a holistic functional and technical vision and solutions in the form of software products, customizations, and integrations to meet those needs.
  • Oversee the technical implementation of multiple medium to large-sized IT business initiatives/projects, ensuring best practices and methodologies are followed. Accordingly, Track, monitor, and communicate status against the project plan, requirements, quality and value measures, standard processes, and milestones.
  • Provide technical guidance and support throughout the project/solutions lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain architectural documentation and end-to-end integrated solution blueprints.
  • Identify areas for improvement and innovation within existing systems for increased scalability, responsiveness, utilization and availability.
  • Follow and improve, procedures, methodologies, governance and standards to ensure effective technical solution design, management of vendors and customers, and maintenance of the ‘one build’ concept in the shared services environment.
  • Communicates complex topics regarding solutions and related projects to audiences both with and without deep technical skills.
  • Support ERP and web developers with creation and maintenance of features and functionality on Azure.
  • Provide input and direction to team related to integration of systems
  • Ensure that integration projects meet business requirements, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
  • Design and communicate guidelines to limit interruption of work due to errors or bugs that occur
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of systems, development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness, systems flexibility and innovation.
  • Collaborate with various departments to establish overarching strategies to ensure consistent and accurate flow of information between systems.
Acquisition & Development
  • Work with team to plan software promotions and act as the “gatekeeper” between development and production systems.
Qualifications and Skills
Education, Training, and Experience
  • Design and implement scalable, secure cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure services
  • Translate business requirements into technical architecture and cloud-native application designs
  • Lead architecture design, integration, and deployment of Azure applications and services
  • Define and implement cloud architecture standards, security, and compliance frameworks
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and operations teams to ensure end-to-end solution delivery
  • Develop and enforce DevOps practices (CI/CD, automation, Infrastructure as Code) for Azure environments
  • Guide cloud migration strategies from on-premises systems to Azure Cloud Solutions
  • Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot performance, cost, and reliability of Azure solutions
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and architectural governance to development teams
  • Stay current with Azure services, cloud trends, and best practices to drive continuous improvement
  • Security & identity (Entra ID / RBAC / Zero Trust)
  • Integration (APIs, messaging, hybrid connectivity)
Mandatory
  • University Degree related to programming, computer science and/or database development/administration
  • 6+ years’ equivalent work experience

  • Ability to process computer data and interpret the results to ensure data accuracy

  • Ability to travel to Mohawk Medbuy offices if required.
