Purolator Inc. in Corner Brook, NL is hiring an AM Sorter to help our team keep freight moving. The role involves sorting and loading packages, unloading freight from trucks, scanning shipments, and preparing items for linehaul delivery.

No specialized education or prior experience is required, and English proficiency is necessary due to communications across hubs. Shift: Monday to Thursday 5:00am–9:00am and Friday 5:00am–9:15am (about 20.25 hours/week). Pay rate: $19.28/hour.

Description

The AM Sorter sorts and separates freight by destination, weight, size, and shape to meet client delivery schedules.

Responsibilities

• Unload freight from curbside trucks onto the conveyor and from conveyor into curbside trucks
• Unload freight off conveyor or chute for load-out
• Loads freight into linehaul / cube truck or trailer
• Preload mail and packages into curbside delivery vehicles
• Manually transfer bulk or non-conveyable items
• Scan all shipped or received mail or packages to identify improperly sorted packaged mail or packages and mail marked for priority or weekend delivery
