Job summary

Purolator in Grande Prairie is hiring a Part Time AM Sorter to support our warehouse operations. This role runs Monday to Friday, 04:45–08:45, for 20 hours per week, at a wage of $28.93 per hour. You will sort and load freight by destination and assist with timely delivery schedules, using scanning and manual handling as required.

No prior experience is necessary; distribution center teamwork and safety are key. English proficiency required.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and/or carry up to 70 lbs.
• Willingness to work as part of a team.
• Attention to process, quality and/or operational standards.
• Successfully complete a criminal record check and employment verification to qualify.
• Obtain a clear Police Clearance Certificate when required.
• Language requirement: Proficiency in English for frequent communication with stakeholders.

• Scan all shipped or received mail or packages to identify improperly sorted packaged mail or packages and mail marked for priority or weekend delivery

The AM Sorter sorts and separates freight by destination, weight, size, and shape to meet client delivery schedules.

Responsibilities

• Unload freight from curbside trucks onto the conveyor and from conveyor into curbside trucks
• Unload freight off conveyor or chute for load-out
• Loads freight into linehaul / cube truck or trailer
• Preload mail and packages into curbside delivery vehicles
• Manually transfer bulk or non-conveyable items
• Scan all shipped or received mail or packages to identify improperly sorted packaged mail or packages and mail marked for priority or weekend delivery

Requirements

• Proper scan and load techniques
• Ability to lift and/or carry up to 70 lbs.
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency in a time sensitive environment
• Willingness to work as part of a team
• Attention to process, quality and/or operational standards
• Successfully complete a criminal record check and employment verification to qualify
• Obtain a clear Police Clearance Certificate when required
