Job summary

Suffolk GP Federation is seeking an experienced Sonographer to join our community Ultrasound team. You will work in the clinic as a lone clinician and provide high-quality ultrasound services across East Suffolk, collaborating with a clinical administrator to maintain patient pathways.

The successful candidate will be UK Registered Sonographer on the HCPC specialist register, hold a postgraduate certificate in Medical Ultrasound, and keep accurate records.

Qualifications

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Sonographer to join our community Ultrasound team.

What is the role?

• You will be an effective member of the Ultrasound team, providing the highest standard of service to patients across the service.
• You will contribute to optimising the patient pathway, and the efficiency of the service by driving best practice.
• You will be working in the community, and will be in the clinic as a lone clinician so will be working autonomously. You will work with a clinical administrator.

We operate from eight clinics across East Suffolk, so you will need to be able to access transport with ease. Suffolk GP Federation is a not-for-profit, community interest company and our main purpose is to support Primary Care across Suffolk, including support with working collaboratively and at scale. We also deliver a portfolio of NHS services across Suffolk and North East Essex, including Podiatry, Ultrasound, Diabetes, as well as Urgent Care Services including the Out of Hours face-to-face Service in Suffolk.

We will work alongside the successful candidate to ensure they are sufficiently inducted and trained; there will be regular constructive supervision in place. It is important to us that you feel safe and supported in the role.

• You will hold a post graduate certificate in Medical Ultrasound.

Contract type: This is a bank contract working in varied locations within East Suffolk. There will be the opportunity to pick up additional cover shifts throughout the year.
