Job summary

GS1 Canada in Toronto, ON, is seeking a Solutions Engineer to drive the Industry Managed Solutions group. You will work directly with subscribers to design and implement solutions, gaining deep expertise across GS1's product suite and technical landscape.

As a business tech leader, you will document requirements, lead cross-department solution design, and ensure alignment with long-term product roadmaps. Strong Azure and API design, plus SDLC mastery, are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/Engineering/Business or related field.
• 4–6 years software engineering experience.
• Strong SQL knowledge and data modelling abilities.
• Experience with enterprise systems and API design/integration.
• Azure cloud-based data platforms and analytics experience.
• Familiarity with AI tools for development and architectural solutioning.
• Experience in Agile environments and SDLC practices.

Responsibilities

• Understand subscribers' business and technical needs to design solutions.
• Lead implementation of approved solutions as SME for business and tech audiences.
• Develop and maintain enterprise architecture delivery docs, SOPs and process maps.
• Lead gathering of requirements, discovery and mapping across departments.
• Translate needs into actionable execution plans aligned with enterprise roadmap.
• Become SME in system/process areas and lead ongoing projects.
• Lead design discussions on scalability and best practices to meet requirements.
• Drive development of data integrations and API-related decisions per specifications.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and development team on project solutions.
