Job summary

Total Oilfield Rentals is seeking a Solids Control Technician to support centrifuges, dewatering and related equipment across western Canada. You will perform setup/tear down, maintenance, troubleshooting, and complete work orders and timesheets on active sites.

Role involves 5 on 2 off schedule with on-call rotation, siting in Lloydminster, and potential rotation across projects. Requires 2 years solids control/derrickhand experience, high school diploma, valid class 5 license, and a commitment

Qualifications

  • 2 years of Solids Control (centrifuge, dewatering, barite recovery) and/or Derrickhand experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required with previous drillsite experience.
  • A valid class 5 driver's license; must provide own transportation to site.
  • Dedication to providing excellent customer service and contributing to a safe work environment.

Job description

Total Oilfield Rentals (TOR) offers rental and transportation of drilling, completion, water management and production equipment to the oil and natural gas industry throughout Western Canada and the Northwestern United States. Our mission is to exceed customer expectations by supplying superior rental equipment, transportation services and product support.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Branch Manager, Solids Control Technicians are responsible for the set up/tear down, general maintenance, and troubleshooting of the centrifuges and related rental equipment. Technicians are also responsible for completing all associated paperwork such as work orders and timesheets.

This position will be focusing on solids control support for various projects throughout western Canada which may include sit-in work on a scheduled rotation.

This position is fulltime permanent and will be based out of our Lloydminsterlocation.

Time Commitment

5 days on and 2 days off with scheduled on call rotation. You will be required from time to time to work outside these hours as the need arises. Schedule may be altered at the discretion of management based on current projects.

Summary of Duties(Duties may include, but are not limited to the following):
  • The Solids Control Technician is responsible for solids control on active sites. This also includes the understanding and operation of solids control equipment and its functions in: solids management, optimization, dewatering, troubleshooting, etc.
  • Responsible for performing a combination of routine and complex equipment operation, preventative maintenance and manual labor, which may include some instruction to others;
  • Ensures that all equipment and systems are being operated to Total Oilfield Rentals standards;
  • Ensures that required documentation is legible, accurate and completed on a timely basis daily;
  • Identifies and recommends improvements to processes and systems;
  • Performs troubleshooting and repair activities as needed;
  • Regularly attends and actively participates in safety meetings, identifies any safety concerns to supervisor, reports all incidents and assists in investigations;
  • Performs mechanical and or equipment maintenance as required and/or assigned;
  • Maintains safe and clean equipment and general work area;
  • Acquires and maintains all certifications as required;
  • Ability to perform physical tasks safely and duties include but not limited to shoveling, moving equipment, tank cleaning and housekeeping requirements;
  • Occasionally assist with mentoring new employees;
  • Consistently upholds Total Oilfield Rentals Values when representing the company
  • 2 years of Solids Control (centrifuge, dewatering, barite recovery) and/or Derrickhand experience;
  • High school diploma or equivalent required with previous drillsite experience;
  • A valid class 5 driver's license; the successful candidate will be responsible for getting themselves to and from site;
  • Have a dedication to providing excellent customer service and contributing to a safe work environment
