Job summary

Total Oilfield Rentals in Blackfalds, AB is seeking a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. You will report to the Branch Manager and develop TOR’s business by performing maintenance and inspections on a range of equipment.

The role is full-time, based in Blackfalds, with 8AM–5PM hours, weekdays, and potential overtime. The ideal candidate holds Alberta Apprenticeship Board Certification and has experience with CAT/John Deere/Komatsu loaders and CVIP licensing.

Qualifications

• Journeyman certification is mandatory.
• Experience with CAT/John Deere/Komatsu/Hyundai loaders is required.
• CVIP license and heavy equipment field experience are expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular preventative maintenance on heavy equipment.
• Inspect equipment and ensure safe operation.
• Keep shop and tools organized and clean.
• Operate with respect to Alberta apprenticeship requirements.
• Utilize heavy trucks and trailers as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of Cummins engines and related gear.
• Collaborate with team and support maintenance programs.
• Support mining operations as required.

Position Summary

Total Oilfield Rentals is currently looking for a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician, will be responsible for developing and expanding Total Oilfield Rental’s (TOR) business.

This position is fulltime and is based out of our Blackfalds location.

Time Commitment

8AM to 5PM, Monday to Friday. 5 days on, 2 days off. You may be required from time to time to work outside these hours as the need arises. Schedule may be altered at the discretion of management.

Summary of Duties (Duties may include, but are not limited to the following):

• Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections;
• Responsible for using proper tools and techniques to complete the job safely;
• Maintain shop tools and work area;
• Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician Alberta Apprenticeship Board Certification is a must
• Heavy Truck & trailer experience
• CVIP license
• Experience with Cat, John Deere, Komatsu and Hyundai Wheel Loaders
• Experience with 6.7 Litre Cummins Engines, Light Towers, Generators
• Experience working in Mining Operations
• A friendly, outgoing personality and ability to work with individuals, groups and other organizations to fit in with our great working atmosphere

Working Conditions

• Mainly Shop in Blackfalds location.
• Flexible and willing to be on call some weekends
• Willing to work outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions with heavy equipment.
