Job summary

Total Oilfield Rentals is seeking a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician for the Blackfalds location to perform maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a range of equipment used in oilfield services. The role reports to the Branch Manager and requires strong safety practices.

Eligible candidates should hold Alberta Apprenticeship Board Certification, CVIP license, and experience with major OEMs. The schedule is 8AM–5PM, with occasional additional hours and weekend on-call as needed.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician certification is required.
• Experience with heavy trucks and trailers is preferred.
• CVIP license is required.
• Experience with multiple OEM wheel loaders and Cummins engines is a plus.
• Experience in mining operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Use proper tools and techniques to complete work safely.
• Maintain shop tools and work area.
• Collaborate with the team to support customers and operations.
• Report to Branch Manager and adhere to scheduling.

Position Summary

Total Oilfield Rentals is currently looking for a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician, will be responsible for developing and expanding Total Oilfield Rental’s (TOR) business.

This position is fulltime and is based out of our Blackfalds location.

Time Commitment

8AM to 5PM, Monday to Friday. 5 days on, 2 days off. You may be required from time to time to work outside these hours as the need arises. Schedule may be altered at the discretion of management.

Summary of Duties(Duties may include, but are not limited to the following):

• Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections;
• Responsible for using proper tools and techniques to complete the job safely;
• Maintain shop tools and work area;
• Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician Alberta Apprenticeship Board Certificationis a must
• Heavy Truck & trailer experience
• CVIP license
• Experience with Cat, John Deere, Komatsu and Hyundai Wheel Loaders
• Experience with 6.7 Litre Cummins Engines, Light Towers, Generators
• Experience working in Mining Operations
• A friendly, outgoing personality and ability to work with individuals, groups and other organizations to fit in with our great working atmosphere

Working Conditions

• Mainly Shop in Blackfalds location.
• Flexible and willing to be on call some weekends
• Willing to work outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions with heavy equipment.
