Job summary

Nexthop Systems Inc is seeking a software engineer to participate in all phases of software development and collaborate with a skilled team to build and optimize core systems. You will engage with customers during scoping, proofs of concept, early trials, and production support in a Hybrid/on-site setting in the Lower Mainland.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in CS/Software Eng or related field with internship experience, and proficiency in Python, C, or C++.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field with internship experience.
• Proficiency in Python, C, or C++.
• Solid understanding of systems software, including embedded systems and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with container technologies (e.g., Docker) and databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all parts of software engineering, ranging from design and implementation of software solutions to testing and peer review.
• Collaborate with engineers on building and optimizing our core systems.
• Support customers at various stages of development through involvement in projects scoping, proof of concept, early trials, and production/escalation support.
