Job summary

Motion Recruitment Partners LLC in the Kitchener-Waterloo area is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive technical direction and lead projects. The role is onsite and requires strong backend expertise, architecture leadership, and collaboration with teams across frontend and backend domains.

The candidate will focus on backend development (about 90%), with some frontend work (10%), and contribute through hands-on coding, team collaboration, and leadership. A BS in CS is preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience is required.
• C#, C/C++, or Java programming background is required.
• Experience with microservices architecture is required.
• Experience with PostgreSQL databases is required.
• Experience with Azure cloud platform is required.
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Backend development at a senior level (approximately 90% of work).
• Frontend development at a minor level (approximately 10%).
• Daily activities include hands-on coding (60%), team collaboration (20%), and leadership (20%).

They're partnered with major public (government) and private entities, so the impact of their products can be felt far and wide. At this point, they are looking for a high-level Senior Software Engineer with some experience leading projects and providing technical direction, to join their team. The opportunity will be onsite, local to the Kitchener-Waterloo area.
