CARFAX, Inc. is hiring a Software Engineer to join a dynamic, collaborative team. The role blends front-end and back-end work, focusing on modern, high-visibility projects in a hybrid London, ON office two days a week.

You will contribute to architecture, security, and performance while growing your skills across a broad tech stack. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in full-stack development, proficiency with Java/TypeScript, and experience with REST/GraphQL, Kubernetes, Docker, and

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in software design and development of complex systems.
• Full stack development experience across back-end and front-end.
• Experience with Java, Kotlin, C#, Go or Python for back-end development.
• Experience with JavaScript, Node.js, TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS3 for front-end.
• Familiarity with React/Vue/Angular and REST/GraphQL APIs.
• Hands-on with Kubernetes, Docker and cloud (AWS) environments.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of microservices and SDLC practices.

Responsibilities

• Working in a dynamic, agile, matrix environment supporting high-use, modern applications.
• Participating in daily huddles and Scrum ceremonies.
• Writing high-performing, robust code to deliver new system features.
• Applying best practices for architecture, security, and performance.
• Participating in design decisions including tech research and prototyping.
• Using test driven development and CI/CD methods.
• Developing testing and monitoring approaches.
• Collaborating with developers, architects, UX designers, PMs, and support teams.
• Sharing knowledge across teams via guilds and coordination.
• Documenting processes, architecture, and decisions.
• Ensuring Non-Functional Requirements are implemented and updated.
