Job summary
Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC in Vancouver seeks a Software Development Engineer to design massively scalable distributed financial systems, including USL and rACE, impacting transaction tracking and reconciliation worldwide.
You will own the full SDLC, build solutions for variance reconciliation, and drive operational excellence with monitoring and automation while mentoring junior engineers.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- 2+ years in design or architecture of new and existing systems.
- Experience programming with at least one language.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain USL and rACE systems, ensuring high availability.
- Own full software development lifecycle: architecture design, testing, deployment, and ops support.
- Develop solutions for variance reconciliation across financial platforms.
- Drive operational excellence through monitoring, alarming, and automated issue resolution.
- Mentor junior engineers and raise technical standards through code reviews and design discussions.
- Participate in on-call rotation supporting production systems and resolving critical issues.
- Optimize system performance and scalability for growing transaction volumes.
