Job summary

Kongsberg Discovery Canada Ltd. is hiring an Electro-Mechanical Production Assembler in Port Coquitlam to build instrumentation and support assembly of PCBs, wiring harnesses, and sonar heads. You will solder, crimp, pot, and test components, read engineering drawings, and work with Engineering, Quality, and Planning to ensure quality and safety.

The role offers full-time hours, day shifts, strong benefits, and opportunities to grow technical skills.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in electro-mechanical assembly or related technical environment.
  • Hands-on experience with electronics assembly, soldering, and wire crimping.
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Strong commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork.
  • Reliable transportation to Port Coquitlam facility.
  • Ability to work pre-scheduled shifts between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM as production demand increases.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test PCB assemblies, connectors, wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, and sonar heads.
  • Perform precision soldering and wire crimping.
  • safely mix and apply chemical potting compounds using appropriate PPE.
  • Inspect assemblies throughout production to ensure high-quality, defect-free work.
  • Read and follow engineering drawings, schematics, BOMs, and work instructions.
  • Use hand and power tools for electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Materials, and Planning.
  • Participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Document and support NCRs and ECOs when required.
  • Cross-train across production areas and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

We’re hiring an Electro-Mechanical Production Assembler to join our manufacturing team in Port Coquitlam.


This is an opportunity to build sophisticated instrumentation while developing your skills in electronics assembly, soldering, wiring, and chemical potting. You’ll work alongside experienced technicians and engineers in a collaborative environment where quality, learning, and continuous improvement matter.


What You’ll Do


  • Assemble and test PCB assemblies, connectors, wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, and sonar heads

  • Perform precision manual soldering and wire crimping

  • Safely mix and apply chemical potting compounds using fume hoods and required PPE

  • Inspect assemblies throughout production to ensure high-quality, defect-free work

  • Read and follow engineering drawings, schematics, BOMs, and work instructions

  • Use hand and power tools for detailed electro-mechanical assembly

  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Materials, and Planning

  • Participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Document and support NCRs and ECOs when required

  • Cross-train across production areas and continually expand your technical skills

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment


What We’re Looking For

You’ll be a great fit if you have:



  • 2+ years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly, electronics manufacturing, or a related technical environment

  • Hands-on experience with electronics assembly, soldering, wire crimping, and hand/power tools

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity

  • Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics—or the demonstrated ability to learn quickly

  • Strong commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork

  • Reliable transportation to our Port Coquitlam facility

  • Ability to work pre-scheduled shifts between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM as production demand increases


Bonus Points For


  • Experience with chemical potting or encapsulation

  • Manufacturing or ERP/work-order experience

  • Technical certificate, diploma, or coursework in electronics, robotics, engineering, or a related field


Physical Requirements


  • Ability to safely lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs

  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, and move for extended periods

  • Comfortable working around chemicals while following safety procedures and using required PPE
