Job summary

Hitachi Rail Canada Inc. invites applications for a Software Analyst Intern/Co‑op in Toronto. This full-time, hybrid internship runs Jan 2027–Aug or Dec 2027 (8–12 months) with a 40-hour week and paid vacation.

You will contribute to software analysis, design, testing, and real‑world projects while learning in a global technology leader. Ideal candidates are university students in CS/SE, familiar with C/C++ and Python, and capable of independent work within a team.

Qualifications

• University student in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Entry-level analysis skills and ability to diagnose issues.
• Familiar with C, C++, and Python.
• Able to work 40 hours/week for the full duration of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to mission/function description, architectural & algorithms design.
• Document test procedures, automation scripts and test software code.
• Perform engineering testing, unit testing.
• Looks for opportunities and make suggestions for improvements.
