Job summary

Giant Tiger Stores in Westlock, Alberta seeks a Softgoods Supervisor (Full-Time) to lead department teams, ensure top-notch customer service, and maintain smooth daily operations. You will train staff, manage merchandising, and participate in inventory and scheduling processes.

The role includes health and safety compliance and community engagement. The position requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and 1–3 years of retail management experience or equivalent Giant Tiger experience

• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal abilities (with employees, customers, vendors).
• Outstanding planning and organizational skills.
• Strong merchandising and analytical abilities; retail metrics familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high level of customer service in assigned departments.
• Oversee day-to-day store operations.
• Train and communicate policies to department associates daily.
• Manage SKU, pricing, signage, and RF unit tasks.
• Complete ordering and replenishment of merchandise.
• Supervise department teams and foster cross-functional collaboration.
• Ensure compliance with Giant Tiger policies and standards.
• Provide action recommendations based on area analysis.
• Lead merchandising activities and inventory management (cycle counts).
• Input scheduling and staffing considerations to Store Owner/Manager.
• Resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.
• Assist with opening/closing on a rotating basis.
• Engage with the local community and store initiatives.
• Support the store owner/manager with additional tasks and projects.
• Ensure health and safety policies are followed.
