Job summary

Social Service Worker / Child and Youth Worker / Developmental Service Worker

Bee Able Staffing Services provides supportive services to children, youth and adults facing challenges and complex needs.

We support a variety of settings including group homes, foster homes, family homes, educational establishments, hospitals, and nursing homes.

We are looking for Child and Youth Workers, Developmental Service Workers, Personal Support Workers and Social Service Workers who are passionate about delivering exceptional care.

Location: Peel, Halton, Simcoe, and the Greater Toronto Area. Positions are casual contract roles; regular full‑time hours are not guaranteed.

Job Type: Contract

Requirements

• Provide one‑to‑one support to individuals with special needs in the community and in their homes.
• Support with daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal care, and community outings.
• Encourage participation in recreational activities and development of social and life skills.
• Provide conflict resolution and problem‑solving support for clients in difficult situations.
• Utilize harm reduction practices to de‑escalate and stabilize clients in crisis or exhibiting high‑risk behaviors.
• Follow through with care plans and complete administrative duties within required timeframes.

Qualifications

• A Human Services Diploma (e.g., Child & Youth Worker, Social Service Worker, Developmental Service Worker, Personal Support Worker, Addictions and Mental Health Worker).
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with individuals diagnosed with ASD, mental health issues, or special needs.
• Experience writing incident reports, serious occurrences, report taking, and daily logs.
• Clinical skills, including the ability to work with and manage difficult behaviors.
• Ability to carry out Safety Plans and Client Care Plans.
• Vulnerable Sector Search within a six‑month period.
• Criminal Background Check.
• Child Welfare Check.
• Certification in crisis intervention (e.g., CPI, UMAB).
• First Aid and CPR Level C required.
• Valid G License and access to a reliable vehicle preferred.
• Ability to work various shifts with minimal notice.
