JOB DESCRIPTION

Contempo Media is a Toronto-based publishing group that houses 3 publications: S Magazine, SHARP & Book For Men. We are seeking a talented Social Media & Digital Editor to join the team. In this dynamic role, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our digital presence across SHARP and S magazines.

We are looking for someone who is professional, positive, flexible, and has an over-achieving attitude towards any given task.

Social Media Editor, SHARP

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develop and execute social media content strategies for SHARP, ensuring the magazine’s distinct voice is maintained.
  2. Create high-quality content (written, visual, and video) for SHARP’s social media channels, catering to the interests of our audience in fashion, transportation, travel, food, and culture.
  3. Manage and schedule content across various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), maintaining alignment with the editorial calendar and relevant events.
  4. Analyze social media and website metrics to understand audience engagement and inform future content strategies.
  5. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure effective audience reach.
  6. Collaborate with other departments (editorial, marketing/sales, art) to create a seamless digital experience.
  7. Capture BTS content on editorial photo shoots and edit accordingly for social media.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Manage and schedule digital content using CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Later) on smagazineofficial.com and social media channels.
  2. Manage, schedule, and repurpose editorial content from print issues for the web based on the editorial calendar.
  3. Manage the monthly online editorial budget.
  4. Assign and manage freelancers based on the editorial calendar.
  5. Schedule and publish press experiences on smagazineofficial.com and social media channels.
  6. Schedule digital content meetings and brainstorm discussions.
  7. Attend press previews and trips as required.
  8. Analyze engagement metrics to inform content strategies.
  9. Stay informed on industry trends to reach our target audience effectively.
  10. Collaborate with departments to ensure a cohesive digital presence.
  11. Schedule weekly newsletters via Mailchimp to engage subscribers.
  12. Capture BTS content on editorial shoots and edit accordingly for social media.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Proven experience in social media management and content creation for fashion brands or publications.
  • Excellent writing, copy editing, and communication skills, with a strong understanding of SEO principles.
  • Proficiency in social media analytics and CMS platforms.
  • Knowledge of Photoshop is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A strong understanding of the fashion industry and key players is a plus.
