Job description

Park Paving Ltd. has been a locally owned and operated company for 50 years, recognized as one of the largest road construction contractors in Edmonton and surrounding areas. We are looking for a SMALL ENGINE MECHANIC to work in our Maintenance Facility to help service our Edmonton and surrounding area construction operations.

In this position, you will primarily perform a range of skilled repair and maintenance work on small engine equipment. Responsibilities include:

1. Inspection, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical and electrical issues on power equipment such as plate tampers, jumping jacks, portable generators, motorized pumps, and trimmers.
2. Coordinating the distribution and return of equipment with other company divisions.
3. Scheduling repairs and maintenance in conjunction with other shop and company activities.

Work involves procedures of a technical nature and uses hand/power tools and a variety of test equipment. The job works with minimal supervision but may include working with other shop personnel in completing projects and activities. There is considerable discretion exercised by the incumbent in the performance of regular duties.

Successful candidates will be licensed Small Engine Mechanics with a valid driver license and have a strong operating knowledge of a wide range of power equipment that will allow them to effectively diagnose and repair any potential problems in conjunction with their direct supervisors and other employees while maintaining a positive and respectful work environment.
