Job description

Park Paving Ltd. has been a locally owned and operated company for 50 years, making it one of the largest road construction contractors in Edmonton and surrounding areas. We are looking for a Small Engine Mechanic to work in our Maintenance Facility to support our Edmonton and surrounding area construction operations.

In this position, you will primarily perform a range of skilled repair and maintenance work on small engine equipment. Responsibilities include inspection, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical and electrical issues on power equipment such as plate tampers, jumping jacks, portable generators, motorized pumps, trimmers, and more. You will also coordinate the distribution and return of equipment with other company divisions and schedule repairs and maintenance in conjunction with shop and company activities.

Work involves technical procedures and the use of hand/power tools and test equipment. The job requires working with minimal supervision but may involve collaboration with other shop personnel. The incumbent exercises considerable discretion in performing duties.

Successful candidates will be licensed Small Engine Mechanics, possess a valid driver’s license, and have strong operational knowledge of a wide range of power equipment. This will enable effective diagnosis and repair of potential problems in collaboration with supervisors and colleagues, while maintaining a positive and respectful work environment.
